I’m really excited to be joining Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk team this summer and will be hosting the Saturday morning irreverent look at the world of sport where my guests will compete for points with their sporting punditry. The fact that I will be awarding the points makes this especially appealing!
2013 was an exciting year for me. I relocated to New York to join the great Regis Philbin on Fox Sport 1’s daily live show Crowd Goes Wild, a sports and discussion show. During my stint in America I got the chance to interview some great names in sport and entertainment on CGW; Floyd Mayweather Jr, Mike Tyson, John McEnroe, Venus Williams, Bill Cosby, Larry King…
Prior to my US move, I spent 2012 travelling the globe presenting Sky Sports Formula 1 coverage for Sky Sports F1 HD. I hosted the pre race weekend magazine show, The F1 Show, every Friday evening throughout the season and presented race coverage over race weekends and conducted weekly interviews with the big names in the paddock; Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel…
Previously I presented Sky Sports News for 10 years anchoring flagship programmes Afternoon Report and Evening Update from 3-7pm Tuesday to Friday.
I was also a regular panelist alongside Freddie Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp and John Bishop on Sky 1’s A League of Their Own presented by James Corden. What a brilliant and fun show that was to be part of; a mixture of sports and comedy it’s now in its eighth series and I still contribute whenever possible.
My other roles with Sky Sports have seen me host the A1 Grand Prix motor racing series, US Open tennis, Speedway World Cup and other live outside broadcasts including Wimbledon, The Goodwood Festival of Speed, Superset Tennis and the Race of Champions at Wembley. I also voiced Sky Sport’s Premier League Years series now in its 14th season.
Other programmes i have enjoyed being part of are Dermot O Leary’s Radio 2 programme, Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff and ITV’s This Morning.
Away from television, I co-wrote my first novel The Twitter Diaries with Imogen Lloyd Webber in May 2011. The book went on to become a best seller on Amazon (which trust me, surprised us both)!
After graduating from Leeds University with a 2:1 in Broadcast Journalism, I worked as a runner at GMTV before becoming a researcher on Entertainment Today. A chance opportunity to front a web broadcast from the Cannes Film Festival in 2000 led to a screen test at Sky Sports and the rest, as they say, is history.
